Babyoga is a practice that combines gentle yoga movements with interaction between baby and caregiver. Inspired by traditional yoga, it adapts postures and stretches to the needs of babies, promoting physical and emotional well-being from the first months of life.
Benefits of Babyoga
-Motor development: Movements and stretching help to strengthen muscles, improve flexibility and stimulate motor coordination.
-Improved sleep: The practice contributes to sleep regulation, helping babies sleep better and for longer.
-Relief from cramps and discomfort: Gentle movements can reduce gas and improve digestion.
-Strengthening the emotional bond: Constant interaction between baby and caregiver promotes a deeper bond and reinforces the child's emotional security.
-Cognitive stimulation: Music, rhythms and gentle touches help with sensory development and body awareness.
Who is it suitable for? Babyoga is recommended for babies from the first few weeks up to approximately 3 years of age. The exercises are adapted according to the child's stage of development, and are especially beneficial for babies with sleeping difficulties, frequent colic or who need more motor and sensory stimulation.
How does a Babyoga class work? Classes are dynamic and fun, creating an environment of well-being and relaxation for both baby and caregiver. They usually include:
Gentle stretches and postures – Adapted movements that promote physical development.
Music and games – Stimulating songs and sounds to reinforce connection and make the experience more engaging.
Massage and gentle touches – Promote relaxation and relieve discomfort.
Interaction and eye contact – Essential to strengthen the emotional bond between baby and caregiver.
